“Wastong Nutrisyon Kailangan, Lifestyle Diseases Iwasan”

Nutrition is an essential requirement for proper health and development. A requisite which must be constituted in the food we take, to emboss our immune system that will act as soldiers against non-pathogenic viruses or bacteria.
Having a right and proper nutrition is the most important needs of man in order to free from hunger and malnutrition. It is a powerful tool for the progress of an individual, as well as the nation.


With the theme “Wastong Nutrisyon Kailangan, Lifestyle Diseases Iwasan”, this year’s nutrition month celebration calls for the awareness campaign on the role and importance of proper nutrition in the prevention and control of lifestyle diseases. Furthermore, it encourages everyone to make a choice along their consumption of foods and practice the lifestyle behaviors towards it. It emphasizes our discipline upon physical activity and healthy diet, stress management and regular health check-up.

Lifestyle diseases are the result of an inappropriate relationship between people and its environment. Commonly known as non-communicable diseases because we can get it from the kinds of foods we eat. Non-communicable diseases are fatal if not treated or prevented.

Proper nutrition plays a major role in the prevention of these lifestyle diseases. Let us improve our nutritional condition and prevent these diseases by eating the right kinds of foods.

We can prevent suffering from diseases if we have a good nutrition and a daily exercise.
